Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and Scholar

As a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant and Scholar in Madrid, I investigated urban agriculture in the city through original research, personal interviews, and participant observation. I also taught English and American literature, history, culture, and language to 100+ students between the ages of 11 and 19.

Research paper: "'Una herramienta eco-socio-política': Performing Identity and Subverting the City through Madrid's Urban Farms." 

Selected curricula:
Vocabularies of Resistance - Original pedagogy that explored current American cultural movements and realities through vocabularies of gender studies and queerness, racial justice and equity, and indigenous sovereignty and solidarity. Ages 16+
Speak Truth to Power - Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights project that utilizes the experiences and stories of human rights defenders to teach students about human rights and urge them to take action. I adjusted lesson plans based on class level and engagement. Ages 11+
